Hello My name is Rachel and I am a mother of 4 year old Sophie and 6 year old Christian. Oct. 2006 I was diagnosed with Breast cancer stage 2b with 9 lymph node involvement. This is an aggressive form of cancer. Nov. 2006 I had a 10 hour surgery double masectomy and immediate reconstruction. Dec. 2006 I started an aggressive chemotherapy treatment which will be followed up with radiation and a final surgery. I have worked my entire life and cannot now. Chemotherapy was extremely difficult for me and my family. I have one more treatment to complete before radiation. Our financial situation is just disasterous. It was very very difficult just to pay our monthly bills not to mention food and other emergancy situations that came up within the last couple of months. I am writing today because today was probably one of the most difficult days. My husband lost his job today. Prior to my diagnosed, my husbands job review was very good and he did receive a small raise. My husband works for a private construction company he is a mechanic and repairs and service their company trucks and cars. My husband nevered called out sick before my illness, never was a day late and was always very loyal to his company. When I was ill he had to care for me and our children but always always made up the day he called out with a day he was scheduled off...believe me we could not afford him to a loose a day off of work. He was working 6 days a week at the construction job and picking up misc. work on the 7th day just to get food on the table and pay for medical, medicines, ect. He felt the supervisors were acting strangely since I was diagnosed. My husband supervisor said to him today that he was making to many mistakes at work. That was it. No documention of any of these mistakes. They never pulled him aside on any other occasion. It just doesn't make any sense. We are hurt and scared and need help. I never thought this could happen. I dont worry for myself I worry for the two small children I have, they are my life. The reason I have gotten this far is because of them. Pls we need help now. My address is PO Box 118 Sompers Point NJ 08224. My email is rpaillere@yahoo.com I thank you for taking the time to read my story. God Bless
